Is there a difference in light metering between M 240 and M 262?

There seems to be talk about a more difficult light metering on the M 262 compaired with the M 240.

I find this odd, because the camera hardware is practical the same. Do you have experienced this with the new M 262?

I did not have this experience , but I only shot with the M 262 camera for 40 minutes.

Paulus,  I have only captured ~300 images with my M 262 so far (using 50 SX ASPH and 24 EL ASPH), but I have experienced simply excellent results. Exposure, colors, DNG flexibility... everything  :D.

I have read the thread in the M240/262 section suggesting difficulty metering high contrast compositions with the M 262, but my experience has been the opposite. Whether shooting the 50 SX at a nighttime food court or the 24 EL against the daylight from a trolley car cockpit, my M 262 performed just right and as you would expect from an M 240 too. One needs to protect the highest zones, but that is true for all of the sensors I have in Leica bodies.

Because you can make the files look the same as an M 240, the consensus on the forum will surely be that M 262 = M 240. But as Thorsten suggested in his commentary, it feels to me as though Leica has modified some things "under the hood" of the M 262 without saying much about it (just as was the case in the RF upgrade for the M 240 over previous M's).

Overall, I prefer the M 262. Things seem to happen quicker, a little brighter to me and the color profile a cooler starting point.
