dkCambridgeshire Posted December 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone apart from Jono regularly used the 21-35mm R zoom on the SL? I recall Jono mentioning (Facebook?) that he was not so impressed with his 21-35mm R results - maybe because the WATE results were better. If I decide to buy an SL I'll likely have to sell a bunch of R lenses to part fund the purchase - which means I'll have to decide whether or not to keep the 21-35 R. I've searched the forum but cannot find any SL / 21-35mm R image results. I note the Konica 21/35 M lens does produce decent results with the SL Regards dunk

I note the Konica 21/35 M lens does produce decent results with the SL Regards dunk I don't recall seeing anything from Jono in the wide angle range except with his WATE. But he took a lot of normal travel shots with the 35-70/4 R zoom and they stood out. So I got myself one. I've researched the 21-35, found the specs were not compellinging, since as a design it preceded the WATE by a few years, and there are excellent primes in the R and M mounts at 15, 18, 19 21, 24mm. So the 21-35 is a bit of an orphan. It's priced a little high, but most of the E-Bay listings seem to say "or best offer." So here's a strategy -- get the SL, use your 21-35 to show what it can do, start a small movement, and then sell it. scott
dkCambridgeshire Posted December 25, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted December 25, 2015 I'm very happy with the 21-35mm R when used on my R9/DMR and other forum members praise it for film imaging. Hoping a few SL users might have some images they can post. Jono's comments are on Facebook - his are the only references I recall. Super Christmas to All dunk
