I noticed the same thing when using bracketing for HDR and thought I was doing something wrong since I am new to the SL. Sounds like the M handles it better. The M and the SL operate differently, not better or worse. One or the other way might be more to your liking or more familiar to you, or suit what you do more appropriately, or fits your expectations more accurately. I'm just pointing out that better or worse is a judgement call, and just saying one thing is better than the other elides much of the context for what that judgement is based upon.
