wow, this is VERY nice, Charles.

Having the two Navy officers on each third of the frame, with the one on the left with that ominous expression and the officer on the right melted out of the scene as if to cut the viewer off from the interaction leaving him/her to wonder...

And the wonderful colorful scene in the background has an old fashioned look- almost like a modern WWII-era image

I really enjoyed this one, Charles.

Best,

Adam

Charles, as master Adam said, this is a fantastic image. Won't add to adam's comments but I would ask to see a B&W version if you don't mind. I have the pinch that B&W works so well with the Navy officers.

Rodrigue, here is the B&W conversion your requested. The conversion has the added benefit of removing the purple fringing from the woman's silhouette.

The body language between the sailors had something to do with the woman walking towards them. No surprise there. :-)

I always saw this image as a scene from On the Town staring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.

Thank-you to everyone for the nice remarks.

the B&W rendition is a bit too sterile for me.  If it were real B&W film (or if some grain and additional contrast were added with SEP, I think it might be more effective.  As I look at the color version again, I might consider playing around with a slight desaturated version, to give it a slightly dated look.  Best, Adam

Charles,

Adam wrote a wonderful Feedback. I can only add that it is

a very cinematic shot with the red colour here as an essential element. It tells the viewer where this story happens and emphasizes the frame of the two guys being a frame again for the Asian girl. I think by the B&W Version this aspect is being masked out.Don't worry about the fringes, not disturbing at all.
