wlaidlaw Posted January 1, 2016 Share #61  Posted January 1, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Another interesting alternative for those like me who have a Novoflex Contax to M adapter, are the two Contax 100mm lenses, the f2 Planar and the f2.8 Makro Planar. There is very little to choose in image quality between these lenses, given they are very similar designs. It really depends what your requirements are. They are generally available for about half or less what a 100mm Elmarit R costs for similar performance.  Wilson
Advertisement Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi wlaidlaw, Take a look here Which 90mm M lens for the SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
profus Posted January 2, 2016 Share #62  Posted January 2, 2016 My apologies for my reaction, which was to find your comments rather irritating.  I use Chrome or Safari. I have heard this from one other person, who was using Firefox.  But those pictures were rather flat, and left that way on purpose.  COne must make JPEGs that are not bulletproof.  It has happened before. The next release usually fixes it.  I'll download Firefox and at least send COne a bug report.  thanks,  scott  My apologies if my comments appeared irritating. I just couldn't stop wondering why nobody's reacting - those images in Firefox looked rather awful  All the best!
phongph Posted September 13, 2016 Share #63 Â Posted September 13, 2016 Hi All! Is it the Apo 90 mm f2 ASPH worth to play with SL after 50 mm lens (Apo f2 ASPH, SL Lux f1.4 ASPH, Lux f1.4 ASPH). Please advice. Thanks!
steppenw0lf Posted September 13, 2016 Share #64 Â Posted September 13, 2016 I prefer the Summicron-R 90 on the SL. Even though the Apo version is more expensive than the M version. It is compact and fits the SL very well ergonomically. But the "normal" R-90 is also very useful - the difference to the Apo is minor and only occasionally noticeable. (Many of the portraits in older Leica catalogs were made with this great lens.) I hope Leica will soon offer a Summicron-SL 90 (along the lines of these lenses) Â If you make no close-ups as a typical M user, then you will not notice the difference, but if you do the R versions are much more useful. An excellent choice is also the Zeiss 2.0/100 Makro (Nikon ZF.2 mount or ZE if you prefer EOS mount, but then you should also buy the Novoflex AF adapter). fotopip Posted September 13, 2016 Share #65 Â Posted September 13, 2016 My old Minolta MD-Rokkor 85/2 performs very well. Good contrast and very sharp at f2. Could also be an alternative.
