This is commonly known as a "Ghost Station" on the London Underground network and is between Hyde Park Corner and Green Park. Opened in 1907, and closed in about 1932. But was converted in 1938/9 into an operations centre for the Railway Executive Committee ensuring the trains worked for the upcoming war effort. The access tunnels and platforms were converted into offices. It had a kitchen, bedrooms, telephone exchange etc.  It was manned for most of the war. Then abandoned again, and but for a signal system, tunnel ventialtion and emergency egress from the Piccadilly Line, is empty pretty much the whole time. There are very occasional tours and I went on one this evening.  It was quite atmospheric. And filthy
