tredlie Posted December 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear All I wonder if some here has experience with adapters that allow non Leica glas to be used on a M9. Fotodiox seems to have a number of adapters: Leica R to Leica M but also Nikon or Canon to Leica M. Clearly, only manual operation (focus and aperture) will be possible, but that's anyway what we are used to. Will these adapters work? cheers Tred
Advertisement Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Hi tredlie, Take a look here Fotodiox LR-LM Objektivadapter Leica R an Leica M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TomB_tx Posted December 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 17, 2015 They allow lenses to mount, but have no focusing cam, so the rangefinder will not work. You would have to focus by distance scale - possible with a very wide lens or small aperture setting. I have tried fotodiox adapters for various lenses on the Sony A7 body, where the live view EVF make focus easy. The mount on these adapters lacks proper tensioning springs to firmly mount the lens, so they "relax" with use and the lens starts to wobble on the mount. Only good for casual use. Once I found which lenses worked well on the A7 I got better adapters for them.
