Steve Ricoh Posted December 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 10, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not taken with a Leica, but I've noticed others have posted non-Leica shots in the past. A picture with a bit of humour! Well, that was the intention.
Advertisement Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Hi Steve Ricoh, Take a look here Street shot from Liverpool . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2015 Whenever we discover a non-Leica photo we remove it. Please follow the rules. I've deleted the non Leica photo.
Steve Ricoh Posted December 11, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted December 11, 2015 Thanks for the advice, stuny. I wasn't aware of rule, but I am now. Just for the record it was taken with a rather inexpensive (comparatively) GM5 and a Panasonic-Leica 15mm / f1.7 Having seen other images that 'blatantly' stated they were taken with an Olympus EM5 and a Nocticron I thought it was accepted as they were not removed. A miller Posted December 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2015 Steve - i think the rule is that images can be posted provided they are shot with either a Leica camera body or lens. I think Idina's noctitron qualifies because althought made by panasonic it technicqlly has the Leica name also on it. Lookong forward to more from your leica... Steve Ricoh Posted December 11, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted December 11, 2015 Andy, there's no point in prolonging this or to justify my quarter, however I did point out that that the image was taken with a Panasonic-Leica lens, so should qualify on the same basis as Nocticron. Not to worry, though, the image was 'Explored' in Flickr, so I received plenty of feedback.
stuny Posted December 12, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 12, 2015 The rule is Leica camera, or Leica lens or both. Your post indicated it was a non-Leica shot. Pana-Leica are acceptable lenses are acceptable, and as I started above, when a Mod discovers a photo that don't follow the rules we remove it. Please email your photo or your Flickr link to me and I'll edit it back into the first post in this thread.
Steve Ricoh Posted December 12, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted December 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks stuny, but to be honest, it's not that important to me that the image is reimported, but more importantly I have gained a better understanding of the rules. I'm in transition between the 'Auto everything camera' , and the more or less 'everything manual M240 RF' - which I love of course - so 99% of future shots will be pure 100% Leica through and through, but I'll only post if they meet the pass grade (Adam kindly reset my brain on this, and as a consequence I'm more self critical before publishing). Daniel Beacock Posted December 12, 2015 Share #8 Posted December 12, 2015 Interestingly with the Tapatalk app a preview of the shot still appears. A guy bending down to stroke a dog?
Steve Ricoh Posted December 12, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted December 12, 2015 It's a lady with her boobs hanging out - I saw it as juxtaposition: puppy and puppies.

Steve Ricoh Posted December 13, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted December 13, 2015 If women want to display their attributes, I can only applaud and thank them. I guess it's not for comfort, or because they feel too (climatically) hot, but due to millions of years of evolution. The more I look, the more I see these juxtapositions! atournas Posted December 14, 2015 Share #12 Posted December 14, 2015 I wasn't aware of the rule "Leica camera or Leica lens or both", but rules are to be obeyed. However, what about images posted here whose quality reminds nothing of the "Leica touch"? Paul

However, what about images posted here whose quality reminds nothing of the "Leica touch"? Paul I'm as guilty as the next man (or woman!) for posting cr@p shots, but I'm learning to moderate my exuberance. As I said above, the shot that was deleted was actually taken through a Lens that bears the name Leica around the front optic, but enough of that, its water under the bridge and best forgotten. However, the reason for my reply to you is to seek guidance: what exactly is the 'Leica touch'?

[...] what exactly is the 'Leica touch'? Hi Steve, I wish I knew! The 'Leica touch' is not an academic term; I only used it to 'rhyme' with the 'Leica camera or lens' rule. By the way, I now confess that some of my photographs posted here were taken with Hasselblad gear; I didn't know about the rule, then. Paul

Paul Tut, tut, but since you owned up, I suggest a lenient sentence of 5 'Hail Mary's' and 2 'Our Farther's', that should do it God Bless you!
