TMorita Posted November 25, 2015 Share #1  Posted November 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having a problem with the X Vario blanking the screen when I use external flash and kill the ambient light.  I'll set the ISO/aperture/shutter speed manually to completely kill the ambient light. Basically all the light in the scene will be supplied by off-camera flash. I can see the scene fine before focusing, but after half-pressing the shutter button to focus, the ISO/aperture/shutter settings will be applied, and the LCD goes blank. Is there a way to avoid this on the LXV?  I can avoid this on my Sony cameras by using the option Setting Effect: Off in the camera menu. So I'm looking for a similar menu item which will delay applying the ISO/aperature/shutter speed settings until the camera actually opens the shutter.  Toshi
Advertisement Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Hi TMorita, Take a look here X Vario with external flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TMorita Posted November 25, 2015 Author Share #2  Posted November 25, 2015 Apparently this is an aperture preview feature of the X Vario.  http://www.waloszek.de/lxv_tricks_e.php#ap_prev  However, I would like to disable aperture preview, as it interferes with my style of photography. Any ideas?  Toshi
