Display setting

In my user profile I have set the display to auto LCD + EVF.

Among I only want EVF, and choose this menu item.
When I go back to my user profile, where the display is set to auto it has not changed, but remains only EVF.
When I open the menu, the right display Auto is properly set, but only EVF works.
It is then necessary to select the auto again until the auto function with both LCD and EVF works.
Is it a firmware fault, or is it just my camera.

I think I understand what is happening to you.  It's not a fault.

I think that you have created a profile, but when you change your menu selection to EVF only, the profile system deselects your original profile because it is no longer what you want..  You have to select that profile again to use it in its original form or if you want to modify that profile, you have to set up your camera and then "save as profile" and select the profile "X" and exit the menu.  You can't modify a profile simply by changing a setting while in shoot mode because a profile can't automatically update with new settings.  That's a good safety feature because you would become confused and not know what profile "X" contains.

The EVF and LCD options don't allow us to short preview a shot on the LCD and then go dark.  It's either EVF or the LCD, or both.  We hope that this will be improved in the next firmware update.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Lucerne for your reply.

Sorry for not been able to be more precise, but what is happening is, when I select my user profile again after used only EVF, the display setting do not change according to the profile setting. The menu shows as set in my profile (LCD+EVF), but only the EVF is active.

I have to go into the menu and confirm the setting.

I have now understood and followed your explanation and made an experiment.   I do find that my Q operates in exactly the same way.  I agree that it is necessary to go back into the profile menu, select the same profile X, and confirm again.   I'm ok with the profiles and the way the EVF / LCD options work.  It doesn't suit everyone, but I just use the camera and its features in the way that they are working.  I never put EVF only in any profile.  Really, I don't want too many options because my memory is bad.   I also use a Leica M 9 and it is very simple.  Maybe it's better not to rely on customised profiles.

I think you can expect firmware changes/updates to the EVF and LCD options from Leica soon.
