pico Posted February 5, 2016 Share #21 Posted February 5, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) The worst distraction whilst trying to load a new film into my IIIg whilst out on a town or country walk is an impatient wife drumming her fingers... I am blessed with a mate who had a Leica II as her first camera.

wlaidlaw Posted February 5, 2016 Share #22 Posted February 5, 2016 For over fifty years each, my father and I loaded our films into LTM Leicas the same way as Philipus does above and never have had any problems. My father bought an ABLON in Germany in the late 1950's but we lost it on holiday a couple of years later. However at a camera fair, I spotted an original Leitz ABLON in its leather case for just a few pounds and thought it would be a nice thing to have. At the next fair, I found one of the now quite rare ABCOO film trimming knives, so now I can trim the leaders properly. I need to do this if using my 1931 1C Standard, as the film slot is too narrow to get a card and the film down together. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! lleo Posted February 14, 2016 Share #23 Posted February 14, 2016 I just cut all the films I need and store them in the fridge. So when I need one or more, they're ready.
