Its a very beautiful color especially the black shinny chrome on the finder. Could you help me with answers for the following:- 1) Are M6 camera hand made? 2) I know the batteries in the M6 body are for TTL reading. So if I do not put any batteries in the body. madNbad Posted November 12, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 12, 2015 The reason the black chrome has such a nice shine is because it is actually black lacquer. It's a late model special edition with the brass top, knob rewind and the top plate engraving. So expect some brassing as the paint wears with use. It will work just fine without any batteries. pixie Posted November 12, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 12, 2015 The M6 has a mechanical shutter, so batteries are NOT reqd. You cannot use flash without batteries. Both the M6 and the M6 TTL have TTL- lightmetering, but the M6 TTl offers a TTL- Flashcontrol, that is often mixed up. The film winding, the Shutter and the focus- system are working mechanically. I don´t know, if they are completely made by hand, but there is a huge amount of handwork on those cameras. They are very reliable and have a stable value. Good choice!
