Advertisement Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Hi Steve Ricoh, Take a look here Arteh . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
A miller Posted November 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2015 this is cool, Steve. I like the PP. You might consider placing the couple a little off of the center of the image (by removing some of the dead space on the right of the frame).
Steve Ricoh Posted November 8, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 8, 2015 I know what you mean, but I'd like to leave some space for them to 'walk into', as it were. What about a crop from the left as seen on the screen, ie loose the poster? In doing so it would bring the subjects back, or closer, to the third intercept. Louis Posted November 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 8, 2015 I know what you mean, but I'd like to leave some space for them to 'walk into', as it were. What about a crop from the left as seen on the screen, ie loose the poster? In doing so it would bring the subjects back, or closer, to the third intercept. I would prefer to keep the left with that poster (Paul MC?), which, IMHO, adds to the shot. There is more to cut on the right and top!
A miller Posted November 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 8, 2015 Hi Steve - I'd rather keep the frame the way it is than lose the poster. I might try changing the aspect ratio to 8x10 and chop just a little bit from the right side. It should put the couple on the right 1/3 of the frame and still give them space to walk into. Steve Ricoh Posted November 8, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted November 8, 2015 Whenever possible in street photography I like people mixed with architecture, pattern breaking etc., and in this image, which incidentally was taken at speed in an attempt to get a 3/4 view, I was aiming for both pillars to meet one of the two criteria
