stuny Posted November 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2015 Well done, good POV. In the US adult smoking has dropped to 17%, but walking on the street, where the smokers are sent, it seems much higher.
Steve Ricoh Posted November 7, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 7, 2015 I'm new to the world of 'M' photography and I'm finding RF focus really challenging, especially with the lens wide open, hence the choice of f5.6 for this shot. However, even with ISO set to 1600 the SS is just on limits for preventing camera shake at 1/30 (35mm f2 'cron). I'm simply loosing too many shots due to mis-focus or movement blur. I'm aware practise makes perfect, and I'm trying my best, but non the less it's disheartening to loose so many potential shots
friedeye Posted November 7, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2015 Nice shot, Steve -- but shooting at 1600 in cloudy daylight at 5.6, your shutter speed should be at least a 1000th.
Steve Ricoh Posted November 7, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted November 7, 2015 Nice shot, Steve -- but shooting at 1600 in cloudy daylight at 5.6, your shutter speed should be at least a 1000th. But at f5.6 and to achieve 1/1000 the camera would be operating at the upper limits of acceptable ISO in terms of noise, wouldnt it? The only other variable is to go wider, but I'm really struggling with RF focus. Thus I'm in the 5.6 region just to obtain acceptable focus (I'm informed it comes with practise!).
