fastcar888 Posted November 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) First, Leica Miami (great organization) is only receiving 5-10 Q's a month. So, at this point there is supply is not equaling demand. Leica stores receive inventory first. It is unlikely that Q demand will be filled, in my judgment, within the next few months. What surprised me the most, after owning Leica M's and Nikon's (latest D800e) is just how intuitive the menu is when shooting. The camera melted in my hands. It was an easy fit, with all the dials set placed correctly. Virtually all relevant menus are accessible with a click or two. Even though it does not bother me, the camera is not complex to use. I programmed the exposure compensation button on my function key. To my way of thinking, the camera is far simpler and easier to navigate than the Nikon. That is saying quite a bit. Furthermore, having a WLAN to transfer photos to an iPhone is simple and effective. My only small issue was setting the diopter perfectly. Overall, even though I picked the Q up only yesterday, I have to say that I am genuinely surprised that I hold the camera in such high regard. Through the years, I must have owned at least 20 camera's. Of course, the true litmus test will be taking photos. But the lens is razor sharp with excellent bokeh. It is a winner. I have no doubt that I will find it to be exactly the tool that I was seeking. Good luck!

CharlesL Posted November 5, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 5, 2015 I don't have a Q but my experience in a different Leica store was similar to your first impression. For diopter setting, it might help to look at text overlay in the EVF and rock the diopter dial to the sharpest setting.

fastcar888 Posted November 5, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted November 5, 2015 The more that you use the camera, the more that you will appreciate its abilities. You nailed it.. Traveled yesterday to visit our grandchildren, then going away when I return for a few day. Of course, I am taking the Q. I am blown away with my initial results, just playing around with a few shots. Beautiful, buttery and creamy bokeh. Easy to adjust, no need for a flash at this point. Don't believe i will need a flash. The lens is tack sharp. I hope the inventory opens up for everyone.
