I am seriously thinking about the S-E & 70mm combo too - new at < £8k, it is now at a lower price and with much better image quality for large prints than an M + 50mm APO combo.

I don`t have the 50 Apo but the file quality of the S-E is in a different league when compared to the M9 or M240.

I got into the S after the demise of the R system and after I sold my 4x5.  It seemed like the natural progression for my amateur use.  I started taking photos of friends with it, and their friends were so impressed with the image quality that this has grown into a small industry for me.  It's a fun diversion that keeps my right index finger exercised and provides funds for more stuff.  For a while I used the S alongside a Nikon dSLR system, but there was such an IQ difference that someone else now owns my Nikon gear.
