dkCambridgeshire Posted September 12, 2015 Share #1  Posted September 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm currently observing a Little Egret which has taken up residence on a local river - fascinating watching the bird feeding as it tickles the riverbed with one foot.  These images were taken with my R9/DMR and 280/4R plus 2x APO extender.  The first from a distance of approx 60 feet whilst the bird was preening on its usual tree branch perch.   Welcome, dear visitor! mike_j Posted September 12, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted September 12, 2015 Very nice Dunk. That 280/4 R plus x2 extender is really excellent. I'm very pleased with some of the pics I took using it on my Sony a6000.
dkCambridgeshire Posted September 12, 2015 Author Share #5  Posted September 12, 2015 Hello Mike … I'm looking forward to seeing your images. The low afternoon Sun certainly makes a difference. Maybe I should try sunrise too? Have you seen Doug Herr's comment ref using the Canon FD 300/4L lens  as an alternative to the Apo 280/4 R Telyt?  http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/241917-is-there-a-non-leica-lens-that-compared-to-the-280mm-f4-apo/page-3  Best wishes  dunk

As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  Also used the Leica T with various lenses; this was taken with an Olympus OM 500mm Mirror lens plus OM 2x extender at ISO 1600 … equivalent FF focal length 1500mm. The 500mm mirror lens cannot match the 280/4 Telyt R but it's a lightweight and compact lens for travel. With the 2x extender a tripod is essential. Had to buy a Novoflex OM to Leica M adaptor because also have an Olympus OM 35mm shift lens which must be mounted so that its shift axes are parallel to the image plane. Initially I bought a well known brand OM to M adapter but when the shift lens was mounted its shift axes were out of alignment - so it went back to Amazon. Sometimes it pays to select the better quality Novoflex and Voigtlander lens adaptors.  dunk
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  Also used the Leica T with various lenses; this was taken with an Olympus OM 500mm Mirror lens plus OM 2x extender at ISO 1600 … equivalent FF focal length 1500mm.
