Advertisement Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hi californiajay, Take a look here HC SD cards in M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
californiajay Posted May 24, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted May 24, 2007 Never mind, I see that they are not yet supported.
woodyspedden Posted May 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2007 Never mind, I see that they are not yet supported. I have been using the Transcend 48x 4gb cards since I first got the M8 in November of 2006. I now have a second M8 and the cards work fine it it also. If capacity is your major issue (as opposed to read and write speed) the Transcend cards work well and are not expensive. I believe Guy also uses these cards as well. californiajay Posted May 24, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted May 24, 2007 Thanks Woody, I actually read about the transcends elsewhere and may give them a try. With the M8, I don't think speed is an issue at all. I don't use that camera with that in mind.

scott kirkpatrick Posted June 17, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) You have to check this almost daily, but when I looked last week, nobody was yet offering 4GB or larger SDHC cards (the Transcend cards are just SD format, cheating somehow to get the extra 2GB),. This may be why Leica is not yet supporting a standard that hasn't quite firmed up yet and can't be tested. I don't know if camera write speed will be much increased with the new standard, but I expect that you will be able to upload files from an SDHC card (in an SDHC reader) 2-4X faster. That is the principal limitation of the Transcend 150X cards -- mine are slower to read than the SanDisk Extreme IIIs of the same size. scott
