Hello all

I'm would like to know your opinion on this subject, I have a 35 summarit and i'm thinking of swapping to a summicron

The I know that there might be no big difference between F2 and F/2.5 and in the distance 0.8/0.7

But i'm looking for the smallest lens possible with the largest aperture (combination) and for me also important the minimum focus distance.

I have read every post possible from the archive on this and on other forums but still can't make my mind.

Would love to hear the opinion of M camera users of both of the lens as well as maybe some examples.

thank you

Sounds like you already answered your own question.

Have just been through a similar process, trying to decide new 2.5 Summarit vs Summicron ASPH 35mm. Went for the Cron. Haven't processed any film yet but I total use impressions are encouraging. The Cron seems to be a bit of a firm favourite on the forum and www in general. Reading trough everything it would also seem that the Summarit is also very well regarded and smaller. Probably can't go wrong with either...

I have had 35 & 50 Summicrons for a long time, then added a 35 Summarit, and found I use it the most on my M9. So I added a 50 Summarit, and now the Summicrons stay in a drawer. The 35 images are excellent, and I love the size and handling of both.
