Likaleica Posted September 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got a MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.4 running. Using Lightroom Creative Cloud with latest update. Capture is in DNG and JPG. When I try to import files I get the following error message and am unable to import either DNG or JPG. Did not have this problem on earlier macs or operating systems. Any ideas? Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hi Likaleica, Take a look here Yosemite 10.10.4, LR CC and M240 v. 2.0.2.5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted September 3, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2015 Does it do that for all files or just for this one?
Dougg Posted September 3, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 3, 2015 And you could try "converting" your old DNG to a fresh DNG with Adobe DNG Converter application. Any other raw processor at hand to try it on?
Likaleica Posted September 3, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted September 3, 2015 It does it for all files from my M. Haven't tried other cameras yet. Never had this problem on other computers, and I have an iMac that still works fine. I'm thinking it is a Yosemite glitch. I'd rather avoid going through another converter simply because I'm lazy. I'll try another camera tonight - maybe Yosemite hasn't upgraded to include the M OS update. Thanks.
Exodies Posted September 3, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2015 Have you tried a different SD card? Oh, I see the card is legible on another computer. I don't think it is the software versions, maybe the new card reader. Try reading the DNG on the old Mac, copy the file to the new one and import to Lightroom from there. Likaleica Posted September 4, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted September 4, 2015 Hmmm. I get the same error message when importing from any card from any camera. I'm also running CC on my iMac and it has no problem importing, so I think it's a glitch with the newest version of Yosemite. Will try to contact Apple. pop Posted September 4, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 4, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand that you are trying to read the card with Lightroom Creative Cloud. Can you read the files or copy the contents of the card using the Mac's finder or even the viewer app?
Exodies Posted September 4, 2015 Share #8 Posted September 4, 2015 My iMac runs Yosemite, 10.10.5 and Lightroom CC 2015.1.1 I don't have import problems and I must have passed through OSX 10.10.
jaapv Posted September 4, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 4, 2015 I have no problem on my MacPro, Yosemite (updated very recently) and Bridge CC. Are your file handling set properly in LR? Likaleica Posted September 4, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted September 4, 2015 Just chatted with Adobe and they linked to my desktop. Said it is a known problem with Lightroom now and a fix is on the way. Weird thing is my other computer does not have this problem, running the same version of CC. For now they said to download photos from card to hard drive then import. Painful.
Likaleica Posted September 4, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted September 4, 2015 So, as a final entry, I found my answer on forums.adobe.com. 99jon walked me through the solution and it works now. The adobe representative simply gave up after about 5 minutes by telling me it was a known issue with Lightroom, which I didn't really believe since I don't have the problem on my other computers. 99jon felt that my LR update did not stick, so I trashed my preferences and re-launched. Voila. Thanks for everyone's input above.
Dougg Posted September 4, 2015 Share #12 Posted September 4, 2015 Well, Tim, glad you got it sorted out! Trashing prefs files is another of those standard fixes once one has identified specific software problem.
