Advertisement Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hi lebanese blonde, Take a look here MGR Production - zoomable viewfinder magnifier. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Herr Barnack Posted February 22, 2016 Share #22 Posted February 22, 2016 Having promised to report back after it had arrived and testing, here is my summary: Delivery from Hong Kong took a long time ... the best part of a month. That may have been caused by delays in customs. It sticks out about 2 cm. The viewfinder magnification is easy to control and confirmed that I need 1.5 magnification. Vision is slightly darker through the viewfinder and therefore focussing in bad light is made worse. In good light it works well and makes focussing easier. In summary, I much prefer a Leica diopter. I'll probably sell the MGR device on Ebay to recoup some of the cost. @Peter, Your comments along with bab's assessment has made me decide to pass on this magnifier and get the Leica #12006 1.4x magnifier. I saw the MGR Production magnifiers in LFI issue 1/2016 (p. 60), but was suspicious; for a price of $90 USD, I had to wonder how good they could actually be. In the end, it seems that this thread has saved me a little money and a lot of frustration. Thanks to all who contributed.
