dennersten Posted August 24, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been hooked on filming, and i have understood how much the Leica Microphone sucks. So i want to buy a quality microphone for hotshot mounting. However the existing hotshoe is occupied by the sound thing. Could somebody please point me to a second hotshoe device suitable for the Leica M ? /HD

The only way I know to do two shoes is very expensive -- the multifunction grip plus the connecting cord and bar. I used this for a project that required me to use both flash and the EVF. masjah Posted August 24, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 24, 2015 I would be surprised if it were possible to get any sort of "splitter" shoe because you would be asking the one shoe on the camera to play two completely different roles (for example for EVF and for a flash). I don't think it's at all like (for example) computer USBs where you can do this sort of thing . As Alan says above, the flash data got from the multifunction grip comes from a completely different connector, leaving the hot shoe to play just a single role. "Leica Microphone adapter set M" Thats the "sound thing" I actually have the multifunction grip. That sounds very interesting, And i found it after some googling. Really expensive. I just need a dumb hotshoe. But i will go for that if nothing else turns up. Thanks.

pico Posted August 24, 2015 Share #6 Posted August 24, 2015 This unit might be helpful. It also isolates the microphone mount from contact sound.
