pico Posted August 17, 2015 Share #1  Posted August 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just wondering if a modified rear extension tube on the 560mm Leitz f/6.8 Letiz Wetzlar Telyt-R might cover on a Hasselblad.
Advertisement Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Hi pico, Take a look here Hasselblad w/560mm Leitz f/6.8 Leitz Wetzlar Telyt-R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted August 18, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted August 18, 2015 Would have to be a 2000F body or similar with focal-plane shutter, since the Leitz 560mm has no shutter of its own. Â Also remember that while those "telescopic" two-element f/6.8 long lenses might well "cover" 6x6 - they have severe curvature of field such that only the middle 6mm circle or so is sharp, even on 35mm. Corners get fuzzy really fast. Â On the flip side, the glass alone probably would cover 6x6, since it is just two elements (i.e. shallow) - but the rear barrel and/or your modification might cause vignetting. Might need to build a new barrel from scratch (or at least the back half - they separate into two parts in some versions). pico Posted August 18, 2015 Author Share #3 Â Posted August 18, 2015 Would have to be a 2000F body or similar with focal-plane shutter, since the Leitz 560mm has no shutter of its own. Â [... bummer reality information ...] Â In a pinch, couldn't I use the 500c rear auxiliary flap/shutter? Oh, it is probably not worth the trouble. I must have been dreaming. Â I have a Hasselblad 500mm f:8 which is very good. I had just retrieved it from storage with its dedicated 500c for a shot. It is very heavy, and the Leica came to mind. adan Posted August 18, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted August 18, 2015 The rear flaps would act like a shutter permanently on "bulb" - press the button and they open, release the button and they close. Probably could be used, but only for long exposures. Â Consider a 250 Sonnar with 2x Mutar to reduce weight. The Sonnar gets a bad rap as "soft" - but I've discovered it is quite good, so long as you never go below 1/500th second hand-held! The "soft" reputation, I suspect, is mostly from camera shake or slightly-missed focus.
pico Posted August 18, 2015 Author Share #5 Â Posted August 18, 2015 Thanks. With the 500mm I always use a stout tripod, long flexible cable release and the camera's pre-fire button. That leaves only the leaf shutter. Vibration free. That's one thing I like very much about the Hasselblad.
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 19, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted August 19, 2015 Hello Everybody, Â The baffles of the Hasselblad "auxiliary shutter" of the 500C is factory set to function at a fixed speed of approximately 1/30 second which is not adjustable. Â Best Regards, Â Michael
