I have one of the first M9s and have no problems. It seems that a lot of M-Es and M9Ps have the issue. Does anyone have any information on this? The MM1 came out a good three years after the M9, correct? That was also around the time the M-E was introduced. I have a few friends with very early M9s and none of them seem to have the corrosion. I hadn't heard of this problem but simply sent it in to Leica for a professional cleaning and they replaced the sensor. It seems to be holding up as does my MM.
