(most of) My Filters Have Arrived (UK)

First M8 purchased last November, second in Feb (I think) and all filter orders placed promptly. Today I got a 39, 46 and 49 (for the Milich WATE adaptor)

The one that didn't arrive was the 55, a good job since I sold the 24mm 2.8 it was originally intended for. Anyone want to swap for another 39mm? For some reason, I have a relentless thirst for 39s - 90mmME, 35 Cron, 35 2.5 CV, 15mm CV...

But they are here. Finally.

Best

Thanks Guy - my dealer has the 39's in though. What does the 67 go on? Is there a lens you have failed to persuade me to buy?

Good news is the 49s are clearly shipping now!

So this monday isn't so bad after all :)

Congrats!

Hope you'll enjoy them for a very long time.

Thanks buddy - they'll be great until I get jam or beer on them, or scratch them. Someone in the pub tried to use one of mine as an ashtray a coupla months ago, I kid you not... serves me right for hanging out with drunken non-photographers.

Still, on the bright side I do have lot of spares after filling in the long wait with some impatient purchases!

The 67 only goes on the Leica filter adapter for the WATE.

I'm waiting for 3 55s, 2 60s and a 67 and never got round to changing my order to delete the 67 now that I use the WATE adapter. We're getting there, slowly.

Mark, if my 55 arrives sooner than yours, you are welcome to it. Hell, I've given up smoking so I can't even use it as an ashtray...

Thanks Tim, they will probably be like London buses though...

I was interested that their "system" (let's be generous and call it that) for dispatching the filters combined your orders. If I get all 6 together, my Christmasses will really all have come at once.

I think you already have some filters judging by your "spares" comment so you already have experience of using them. Are you in Jono's "don't bother with filters' camp?

Ahh but they did distribute the three filters between two separate shipments that both arrived together!

I've been using the B+W and one or two Leica filters (that I bought from H A Baker in Lewes) for a while now and I have to say that they stay on all the time BUT if there's one missing for a particular lens like the WATE for example, I don't sweat it. My colour vision is not as good as Jono's so I'm not afflicted with the green issues so much, as far as I can tell! But I do appreciate not getting the magentas on clothes and stuff, and I do shoot quite a bit under incandescent, so on balance I think they are a Good Thing...
