spylaw4 Posted May 23, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted May 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Let's face it guys - unless there is a miracle (please!) the D2 is stuck with what it is, alas. BTW I don't find the EVF that bad - 99.9% of my shots are taken using it.
Advertisement Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Hi spylaw4, Take a look here Why my D2 BW files look better than my D80's?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
krabat Posted May 23, 2007 Share #22 Â Posted May 23, 2007 BTW I don't find the EVF that bad - 99.9% of my shots are taken using it. Â I also use almost exclusively the EVF.
asabet Posted May 23, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted May 23, 2007 I'm pretty happy with both the EVF and the higher ISO performance using RAW on the D2. If they could up the resolution to 7-8MP without changing the noise, color, or dynamic range characteristics of the sensor, I would be more than happy. Guest stnami Posted May 24, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted May 24, 2007 The latest I heard from the God squad was that the son is not bringing a new D2 on his second journey down under

Annie135 Posted May 24, 2007 Share #26  Posted May 24, 2007 As promised RAW from the D2 converted.  I have just posted a colour version of this in the Photo forum. Don't know which I prefer. asabet Posted May 25, 2007 Share #27 Â Posted May 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brian, I don't know what your B&W shots look like without RAW, but this one is terrific!
rivi1969 Posted May 25, 2007 Author Share #28 Â Posted May 25, 2007 Brian, Â Excellent conversion. I can see a huge amount of detail even in the window hightlights... I think the 6 secs delay are worthy don't you think?? I am going to check the color version, I could say that will look bold and beautiful too. ChrisDIGILUX2 Posted May 25, 2007 Share #29  Posted May 25, 2007 Two B&W pictures, ISO 100, taken in my kitchen with my D2; amazingly sharp. I shot JPG with minimum compression. I love this camera!  - chris    part of the previous one:
lemalk Posted May 27, 2007 Share #30 Â Posted May 27, 2007 The viewfinder is one of the reasons I'm moving up to a D3. I wish it could be swapped out for a standard (non-electronic) viewfinder...that would make the D2/LC1 an almost perfect camera. Â I LOVE the B&W shots, the depth, richness and overall feel. They do seem to humble other more "pro" cameras...
asabet Posted May 27, 2007 Share #31 Â Posted May 27, 2007 Another recent D2 B&W to share, this of my dad with my older son. Taken at 90mm, f/2.4, ISO 400. Vignetting added in post. Â
rivi1969 Posted May 29, 2007 Author Share #32 Â Posted May 29, 2007 Hello my friend! Â I didn't new this shot was yours when I comment on it on dpreview...!! Wonderful capture indeed, one of those shots that even with a cellphone camera would be priceless of course it is nice to know that your Leica capture the moment... :-)) Â I am sure it was raw right? there is a little noise but not the watercolor effect so unpleasant with the jpgs. Â Congrats! Ricardo
asabet Posted May 29, 2007 Share #33 Â Posted May 29, 2007 Hi Ricardo, yes it's me =). Thank you again for the warm comments. It was RAW. I think RAW is really the only way to go with the D2 at high ISO.
