Why my D2 BW files look better than my D80's?

I'm pretty happy with both the EVF and the higher ISO performance using RAW on the D2. If they could up the resolution to 7-8MP without changing the noise, color, or dynamic range characteristics of the sensor, I would be more than happy.

The latest I heard from the God squad was that the son is not bringing a new D2 on his second journey down under

As promised RAW from the D2 converted.

I have just posted a colour version of this in the Photo forum. Don't know which I prefer.

Brian,

Excellent conversion. I can see a huge amount of detail even in the window hightlights... I think the 6 secs delay are worthy don't you think?? I am going to check the color version, I could say that will look bold and beautiful too.

The viewfinder is one of the reasons I'm moving up to a D3.

I wish it could be swapped out for a standard (non-electronic) viewfinder...that would make the D2/LC1 an almost perfect camera.

I LOVE the B&W shots, the depth, richness and overall feel. They do seem to humble other more "pro" cameras...

Hello my friend!

I didn't new this shot was yours when I comment on it on dpreview...!! Wonderful capture indeed, one of those shots that even with a cellphone camera would be priceless of course it is nice to know that your Leica capture the moment... :-))

I am sure it was raw right? there is a little noise but not the watercolor effect so unpleasant with the jpgs.

Congrats!

Ricardo
