hello,

i was looking at the performances of the leica m 50mm lenses. what i would like to see is the effect just the mere aperture 1,0 has compared to 1,4, talking about the only great benefits of the noctilux just at this point at f/1,0. what is the difference of the bokeh at 1,0 and at 1,4 with same lens (noctilux) and same frame?

does anyone of you have examples?

regards + thanx for help

This is a really nice series. The Noctilux f2.0 image is very sharp. If you selected the bottle of scotch and increased the contrast and usm on it, how close can you come the the appearance of the same bottle in the f2.0 photo?

yeah, talking about what is bokeh :D

and the blue color at edges of bright light demonstrates aberration, which at 1,4 is almost gone from what u can see here. from the MTF at leicas website it seems that the 1,4/asph and the noctilux are at the same level around aperture 5,6. with the m8 the edges can be neglected. so one must decide weather to habe excellent quality at 1,4 or the chance to have 1,0 at all...

looking thru the forum trying to find reasons for the best 50mm lens for the m8 for me i missed a bit this point or i could not find it in the time i invested

greetins

maybe not see them at all after emptying the bottle:D

Before we all get really drunk there, and just to follow up with another thread, here is the same shot taken with the Canon f1.2 50mm at f:2.

Only one conclusion to all this : the bottle is uglyempty but all these LTM lenses are beautiful, the M8 is beautiful... even the orchestra is beautiful !

A special thank for our sponsor Johnnie Walker...

I think it is a great lens but must be used with care otherwise it can look weird. I will probably get one with one of my 30 percent off vouchers
