Advertisement Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Hi biglouis, Take a look here Thames Beach. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
azzo Posted May 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2007 Louis, These 2 images are both very well framed, captured and lovely. Fantastic light, contrast and beautiful b&w tones. Nice colours in the 2nd and an appropriate vertical composition. Azzo
Rolo Posted May 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2007 Hi Louis, I prefer a crop version of this as it seems to me there are two or more images locked up in this phot. My eye is drawn to the debris on the beach and it's not appealing. A hint of low tide is enough to illustrate your point in my view. Regards, Rolo
stuny Posted May 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2007 Big - Amazing sight, expertly rendered with such depth, DOFG, tonal range and contrast. I like Rolo's version, too, though it down-plays how low the tide is.
steve kessel Posted May 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 20, 2007 Louis, Fascinating picture, very well caught.. I'm curious about how the close up exposed river bed looks in colour in relation to the city above and beyond. I imagine wet slime and sludge against the familiar gleaming skyline. Thanks. Steve. biglouis Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted May 20, 2007 Louis,I'm curious about how the close up exposed river bed looks in colour in relation to the city above and beyond. I imagine wet slime and sludge against the familiar gleaming skyline. Pretty much, although the beach changes. Below Waterloo Bridge it was actually sand, then it changed to glutinous mud and boulders, then to dry pebbles (see below the OXO tower). Since you asked - the original colour picture

The 35 lux asph is so amazingly sharp that it is possible to crop out various shots without the problem of soft edges etc. Mind you, I think was shooting at f16.
