Antema Posted June 8, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) When formatting the SD card in the camera, I accidentally touched the reset button which is just above. This caused the camera not only to full reset, which can be adjusted again, but also to start the counter from zero. It is not a disaster of course but is it possible to correct my mistake? It is quite convenient to know how many pictures the camera has exposed, but mainly it is practical when uploading the pictures on to the computer, storing the pictures in order. My questions is of course is there any possibility to adjust the counter to pic up where it was? Among all clever LEICA guys I am sure someone knows a trick.... Kind regards Antema
Advertisement Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Hi Antema, Take a look here M-P 240 Image numbering. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2015 It is just the number on the card; Take an image and renumber in the computer, the camera will pick up from there. In general, it is wise to have your import program pick up the date from EXIF and add it to the image name, Bridge will do that, Imageingester too. You can store the images in folders by date that way. I am not a LR person, but I am sure you can do so in LR as well.
Antema Posted June 8, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted June 8, 2015 Perfect, problem solved thanks! This Forum is great! And after more than 40 years as a keen NIKON-photographer (but just a year and a few thousands pics with LEICA), I am obviouisly still learning every day. Excellent, you have solved my little problem. Using Lightroom + Apple, I store the pics in a chronological order on my computer hard desk with separate back ups. And I import all EXIF data as well of course. But I like the numbering as my guide line. Thanks again Jaap! Antema Photography
bocaburger Posted June 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 8, 2015 I'm sure I'm far from the first or only person doing this, but I went into the camera menu and changed the "L" file prefix to "B" on my black M240 and "S" on my silver one, that way if the images showed a camera-related problem I'd know which camera is faulty.
