marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Seems unreal, Steve, as other many things you can see in India. I'm only sorry for haven't had enough time to discover it more deeply. Thanks for looking. Marc
biglouis Posted May 20, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Fascinating, a terrific photograph which would make an interesting print. I'd hang it on my wall, which for me is the highest accolade. Any more? Â LouisB
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Louis, I'm really grateful you enjoy it. The picture was taken from the fort wich dominate the city. It's literally surrounded with kilometers of blue painted houses. Jodhup is named the Blue City. I took several pictures of the scene, both in vertical and horizontal composition. At last, I thought the vertical format transmited better the sensation of an unlimited blue roofs sea. But, as lanscape format were interesting too, I shall post one of them, and you'll may evaluate the best option. Thanks a lot. Marc
azzo Posted May 20, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Lovely ! Â Marc, Â A really nicely framed image. Well Done. Looking forward to see the landscape one, too. Â Azzo
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #7 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, I have no option but send the lanscape version ;-) Thanks a lot, Azzo. I'll do it today, I wish you'll like it, too. Marc
kuddel Posted May 20, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marc, very good, I have never seen such a picture of Blue City. Impression of the huge wide area with blue painted house is overwhelming. I would like to see it one day by myself ... Â Regards, Andreas
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #9 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Andreas, Thank you very much. I only can encourage you to go there. Well, with enough time to enjoy it. I hadn't enough, myself, a pity ;-) Here is a lanscape and closer version. Marc
azzo Posted May 20, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marc, Â Lovely also, but the vertical version is rather special, IMHO. The blue houses and the trees zig-zagging from top to bottom are very pleasing to the eye. A really lovely place to visit. Â Azzo
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #11 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Absolutely in agreement with you, Azzo. It's why I posted the vertical version. I'm sure most of us we share the same opinion. Go and visit India when you can, it's full of potential pictures to catch ;-) Thanks for looking again. Marc
kuddel Posted May 20, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marc, thank you for the enlarged version of the picture. It is interesting these blue houses, so much and close to each other and such an intensive blue. But as a picture I like the first version better, the fading of the house against the horizon and the spots of trees between them, as Azzo said. Â Cheers, Andreas
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #13 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Andreas, I'm glad we share the same taste. This second one insist in details, and because of it, gives more information but, at the time, also lose some magic. Thanks for looking again and comment. Best regards. macos Posted May 20, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted May 20, 2007 What else can I say than to totally agree with former comments? I also think that the first one is even more special than the widescreen version. If someone would have told me that there could be such an interesting image from this constellation I would not have believed it. So, another image to learn from. marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #15 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marcus, The city view is so spectacular, that its own citizens go up to the fort, in festive days, to contemplate it a long time. I remember a picture I did about it, I shall post later. Thanks for looking and for your kind comments. Marc
beramos Posted May 20, 2007 Share #16 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marc, you are a lucky person to have this wonder ahead. I prefer the first photo in vertical and I am in agreement with the Ivan's comment. Excellent photo that could be used to do puzzle. Cheers,
stuny Posted May 20, 2007 Share #17 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Marc - Â I'm envious -- The only day I had a chance to photograph this the conditions were uncharacteristically poor. Excellent!.
marc_dufour Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #18 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Bernardo, You're right, I'm a lucky person: I got the woman I fell in love. Later, both we decide to relinquish some convenience to may travel. We never regret this decision ;-) Stuart, I had the same problem in Jaipur. So, OK, no photos there ! But, both we got some good ones in other places, didn't we do? Thanks to both for your comments. Marc PS: I attach a new one (the last, I promise!) just to illustrate what I wrote above: Jodhpur people love their city and enjoy comtemplating it when they can do it. I should add they are so beautiful as the own city ;-)
samwells Posted May 21, 2007 Share #19 Â Posted May 21, 2007 Marc - fantastic kaleidoscope of blues. I think you're right about the vertical one being better...also because the scatter of the green trees makes a most satisfying pattern amongst the blues. cheers: Sam
marc_dufour Posted May 21, 2007 Author Share #20 Â Posted May 21, 2007 Thanks a lot, Sam. My trouble, there, was to isolate something. The profusion of elements had really hard to fix the eyesight on a specific point and choose a framing. Best regards. Marc
