jlancasterd Posted May 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A whole gaggle of early 1900s De Dion Bouton cars turned up in the Ffestiniog Railway's Harbour Station car park this morning... They weren't parked with photography in mind - and the weather was a bit iffy - but I thought I'd share... All taken with M8 and CV 28mm Ultron f1.9. rob_x2004 Posted May 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2007 Staggering clarity. I tried dropping away the mid tones a frag and dare I say it selective sharpening. You could do anything with these files. Awesome.

billh Posted May 21, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 21, 2007 Thank you - I love these wonderful old Brass era cars. I wonder if any of them go in the Brighton race?

jlancasterd Posted May 21, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted May 21, 2007 Staggering clarity. I tried dropping away the mid tones a frag and dare I say it selective sharpening. You could do anything with these files. Awesome. Thanks Rob - I'm glad you like them. These were pretty quick and dirty conversions. All I did was a crop to shape followed by a lightening of the shadows before I reduced them to Forum size. I'll bear in mind your comment about mid-tones and sharpness when I come to do some prints. IMHO the CV 28 1.9 is a very good 'standard' lens for the M8 - my only quibble is that it cuts into the v/f field rather more than I would like. At the moment I've got it fitted with a B+W IR-cut filter but the mount is uncoded - I'm waiting for a model engineer friend to machine the slots in an adapter. Even so, I really can't see much evidence of cyan corners in any of my shots - not that you'd see it in these shots as they've all had the ends cropped.
