gbealnz Posted June 1, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted June 1, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looked in the FAQ's, and did the 6 or so pages of T discussions, couldn't find a definitive answer. Â Anyone using a collapsible lens on the T? I am awaiting a collapsible Summicron 50mm. I'd rather use the Canon 50mm f1.4 if there is a chance of damage, but conversely, if it works, then why not, as I figure the Summicron will spend most of it's time on the M6, and the T will ride along with the M6. Advertisement Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Hi gbealnz, Take a look here Collapsible Lenses On The T?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dpitt Posted June 1, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted June 1, 2015 Wrap some rubber band or tape around it to prevent it from collapsing, then you will be fine. It is one of my favorite lenses. Can produce magical images with the right light. Never touch the front glass when not needed, it is soft as chalk. This one is very hard to find without cleaning marks. gbealnz Posted June 1, 2015 Author Share #3 Â Posted June 1, 2015 Thank you Dirk. I had considered "limiting" the collapse amount by way of tape (or a more permanent method is a cable tie). But given I also want to use it on the M6 off and on, I'd prefer to be able to collapse it IF I can. If I cannot collapse it, then I think the safest option is not use it. While I'd have all the best and careful intentions, I can guarantee (I call it "Sod's Law") there would come a time when I'd forget, and whammo do some damage.
