I was simply looking to revamp my current kit and take advantage of the 12% sale.

But that is the last, last, very last thing a person who loves to make great photographs would ever put as a priority. I think that is what they are trying to tell you.

I have an M6TTL with a 28 elmarit asph, 35 1.4 asph non FLE and a 50 ZM planar on a M3....I literally want for nothing more....including the pudgy FLE.

I'm not really following some of these replies.   Wanting and / or loving to make great photographs is everyone's goal.  Why would wanting to upgrade one's lens kit during a rare time that Leica is offering a deep discount be met with such objection from the responses.   This has nothing to do with anything other than the desire to purchase a new lens at a time when Leica is actually encouraging such and making it a little more cost efficient to do so.  The post was simply about opinions from those more experience with the glass I was injuring about.    You have a very nice kit Ai, I've had the M6TTL, the M3, the 28 and the 35 at various times in my life.  All are great pieces of equipment.   Very good for making wonderful images.

Hi JT07, with respect maybe you should have titled your Post

"Thinking of Adding" and maybe not included your existing list of lenses.

Very possibly some of us readers just misunderstood you..

Quite seriously any cost savings on any Leica stuff is a bonus. Take heart in the fact that we all had different educations, we all look at things differently, but all in all we All love photography and Leicas are the icing on the cake.. If you have a few spare sheckles a new 90mm for my Safari would be nice..

Take Care, Regards, L..

Your first scenario leaves you completely devoid of anything wider than 35mm, then you turn completely around in the second scenario and go for ultra wide.  Sounds to me like you aren't in touch with what your shooting preferences or needs are, and just have the itch to buy something.  That's fine, it's your money.  Bottom line only you can decide what you want or don't want, and what your priorities are.

+1

Even if you can justify the expense for the horse and cart, the horse still goes in front.

My 2 cents .......40 years shooting professionally ......currently retired

I can appreciate what your trying to do, but  your kit is fine. You have enough great lenses to shoot anything that you want. I'm not sure what you will be gaining with a new lens? Is there a shot you missed because you don't have a particular lens?

If you just want a new lens, sell the ones you use the least and buy one you think you will use and enjoy. Its Leica you can't make a wrong choice. We all like a complete kit  and you more than have one.

I personally am of the school  that carrys one lens at a time because photography is my hobby. Its very liberating and makes you think.

I hope you find this this is constructive....and I must say you have a nice kit! ......all your missing is a 90mm Macro
