erl Posted May 19, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Architechture, not my usual bent, but here it is. A vision, almost from the past, that grabs my eye. Line, colour, whatever, it appeals to me.

chilihead Posted May 19, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Crop off the dark part in the lower right corner/edge and your image will become much stronger - nice work!
stumac Posted May 19, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Hi Erl, Â Striking image, 50 years since I rode this one, must be a nightmare to maintain. Â Regards, Stuart
erl Posted May 19, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Ivan & Peter, thank you for your comments. Peter I agree the tree fragment should come off. I considered it but did not want to break the down curve of the track. In retrospect I should have. Â Stuart I think they have had issues with maintenance. I was there on this occasion to shoot the carousel. My sister in law painted the horses when it was restored some years ago but never got any pics. It's a marvellous carousel, bt I find it hard photograph in any way other than 'documentary'. By that I mean I have not yet got a creative picture of it. Â I am all for cropping where it would help. However, I think Erl has got it right; only the slightest sliver could be tolerated before the picture becomes unbalanced. Â Erl, it is a strikingly graphic image. Â David
erl Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Thank you David. I would easily clone the fragments of the palm tree out in a serious print, but for forum display, I tend to rush things. Call me lazy!.
