My "steam" projector...

Yes, at one time, my Fontenelle collection counted 22 projectors... I finally gave up, due to the price asked for the construction of a new annex to my house.

Among these "beasts" - and except for the Pradovit I used - my favorite was this huge, heavy, incredibly antique-looking and complicated (the contrary of "sophisticated") VIIIS. Its wooden fitted "box" contained everything, including a voltmeter, a rheostat, different focal lenses and slide/film strip changers...

I called it my "steam" projector, because it was water-cooled and had a locomotive-like "chimney".

I believe it is still somewhere in a garage corner. I'll have a look...

And yes, you should have built a museum to make everybody enjoy these beauties. You never though you could have made to pay a ticket for visit? B)
