D-Lux 2 RAW - where's the iso?

I've finally seriously started to explore shooting & processing RAW files from my D-Lux 2. I have Elements 3 with the Elements RAW processing plug in.

 

One thing I've noticed is that the exif data for each shot includes the iso setting for the jpeg file but not the RAW file. Is this an omission in the data readout, or is the iso setting not registered in the RAW file? If the latter, what does this mean for one's iso/shutter speed/aperture exposure decision?

 

Another question: I've grown used (addicted?) to the saturation of the jpeg files produced by the camera. They come across lush & sweet and frankly I like them. By comparison the RAW files come out more sober, somewhat lighter, especially skies. Can anyone explain this? And is there a way I can I get my RAW files to look like jpegs in terms of saturation if I so wish?

Your raw files will look different from your jpegs because the raws are not processed in the camera but the jpegs are. The DL2's picture adjustment settings (contrast, sharpness, saturation, and noise reduction) don't apply to raw mages so you'll have to post process them in Elements 3 to get them to look like your jpegs.

 

Can't help with the raw EXIF data I'm afraid.

Thanks for your replies. Guess what? The iso setting appears in a top strap line along with f-stop, shutter speed and lens focal length in the Elements RAW editor -doh! (but it don't appear in the P'shop organizer exif popup window).

 

The elements RAW processing dialogue offers various settings that one can edit. These come up as "auto" camera raw defaults. By that I assume P'shop applies standard settings to different types of cameras, or is it more complicated than that, ie related to the camera's exposure setting for each shot?
