Just obtained a tri Elmar wate and trying to learn its ways. Does diffraction play a part at f22 on one or all 16-21mm focal lengths?? If so how stopped down can you go without diffraction problems?? Thanks

I would’t worry about it. If you need a small aperture for photographic reasons, just use it.

All apertures on a decent lens will give good results. Yes, detailed analysis and pixel-peeping will show some deterioration beyond say f 8.0, but other factors like small focus errors, motion blur, etc. will have far more impact, yet not stand in the way of a good photograph..
