azzo Posted May 18, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 18, 2007 Wow ! I really wouldn't mind seeing two in red jackets, as long as I come across something as nice as this ! Fantastic composition, light colours and detail captured. Well Done Pete. Azzo
stuny Posted May 18, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 18, 2007 Pete - Fortunately, they all stepped around to the other side of the house just before you took the shot. Excellent timing. also excellent composition, with lovely color, light, depth and detail.
elansprint72 Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted May 20, 2007 Look above the house, and to the right, just by the trees! Thanks, guys.
biglouis Posted May 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 20, 2007 Is this some kind of monitor-calibration test??? I must stop buying my specs at specsavers! (Actually, I think I can see the smudge you are alluding to). A lovely shot and an interesting geological formation. Is that glacial? I can't see a typical u-shaped valley so I assume it is not. elansprint72 Posted May 21, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted May 21, 2007 BIG, Mrs T is the one with the Geog degree but... yes this is a glacial landscape; it's a sort of truncated Cwm (if that makes sense in English). The rock around these parts is very hard, so ice had it's work seriously cut out. I suspect that the NW England boys will be featuring this location soon for one of their shoot-outs (did I mention that my family home was just 8 miles away?). OK; NW England boys, calm down... there is an excellent pub.
biglouis Posted May 22, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pete The lake district is one place I must go back to at some point. The mrs and I spent a week there shortly after we were married (that was just about 25 years ago!). Probably changed a lot since then :-) LouisB
