Early times' oddities

Since "Duckrider" said in his comment about my thread "Screw-mount times' oddities", that he liked and admired "second-hand products for Leica", it reminded me a collection of other brands light-meters "specifically made for Leica" I had. Here are the photos I found in my Fontenelle Collection archives.

It is worth observing that most of these meters were scaled "following the Leica system", what reminds that Leica was also forerunner in the modern DIN sensibility and aperture scaling systems.

This Fontenelle Collection must be awesome.

Well, maybe, Ileo, but anyhow "has been"...I started my Fontenelle collection in the late 60s-early 70s, after having been a fervent user from as early as 1949 (I was 15 then...). When I retired to Portugal in 1993, the insurances denied any more cover for my valuable stuff, so I sold my 110 bodies, 300 lenses and around 1,000 accessories (well, OK : 1,000 references, including rings and filters!). And now, aged 81, I just enjoy daily accessing the Forum, rummaging through my archives (nearly 35,000 photos, thank you computing devices!) and getting occasional contacts with (surviving) friends. And commenting (age being the excuse for the length) notes like yours, of course. Thanks.

You have chosen a nice place to retire. I never been in Portugal but a long time ago I watched a documentary about Funchal: that would be THE place for retire. At least for me. Quite, no confution and breathless places to take photographs. And, congrats for your age. I hope I'll be able to get there

35000 photos. Mein Gott. I hope you have stored them in different devices. You should publish all in a website or on paper.

And about the insurance companies... well they are worse than thieves.

Though is a real joy to read your topics with those unbelievable stuff inside them.
