Film Mode

With apologies if this has been discussed before, I understand that personal preferences are different...but was curious how everyone uses for the film mode on the T.

I thought I had the perfect setting for my tastes, then lost it during a firmware upgrade, can't remember what it was and haven't been satisfied with what I have tried.

What is your best film setting?

For colour, where I am only using the JPEG's, Standard or very occasionally, Vivid.

Usually where I am shooting DNG and JPEG I opt for B&W, normally the higher contrast version.

With both I normally slip a bit more sharpening and contrast in via the sliders.

I love using it in B&W mode, and really only add the DNG for old times sake, (yes I know, I can hear you now, ALWAYS use the DNG). Simply put though, for my requirements, the B&W JPEG's are all I need, and some.

This absolutely fascinates me as I have spent hours trying to get the sliders to work on my camera. I go into the film options OK, then click on the small box for whichever film setting I have chosen and this brings the three sliders up for sharpnedd contrast and saturation, all of which are currently central BUT beyond that I just cant actually adjust them or move them in any direction?? Is it me or do I have a faulty camera? Can anyone advise me please? Don. PS. My camera is on the latest firmware

Using a finger, drag the sliders to required position. If dragged quickly, the slider 'button' may spring back to the centre; if dragged slowly the 'button' should stay at the required position.

And you need to drag sufficiently far, otherwise the slider will indeed go back to the middle.  I have had no issues with it.
