lleo Posted May 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wonder why there are two indicating lines, long and short, on the knurled wheel of VIOOH.
Advertisement Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Hi lleo, Take a look here VIOOH finder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
M9reno Posted May 12, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 12, 2015 You use the long lines to frame with lens focused from 2m to infinity. You use the short lines for distances shorter than 2m. (Short line = short distance). The frame is smaller with lens focused at short distances, bigger for longer. Better than the frame-ines on an M viewfinder, which cannot change in size and remain at a small (short distance) setting. (Wouldn't this be something to change on digital, now that frame lines are electronic?)
lleo Posted May 12, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted May 12, 2015 Ah super. Good to know. Thanks alot for the info. About digital...
luigi bertolotti Posted May 12, 2015 Share #4 Posted May 12, 2015 .... (Wouldn't this be something to change on digital, now that frame lines are electronic?) Eh... ..easier to say than to implement... ... the basic mechanism of the framelines hasn't been changed in principle, it's just their illumination that has been made LED-based (so, gaining the capability to change their color... and losing that typical "illumination window" that was a classic part of the M front....); they ought to setup a fine matrix of small LEDs, to be switched on selectively depending on focal and focus distance... not forgetting the parallax adjustment (which is already managed in the current VF)... lot of work and components for a goal that doesn't seem to be one of the main improvement in the hopes of we Leicistes.....
