jochiongv Posted May 11, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anybody knows if it's exactly centered along the center line of the lens? (Did a search but could not find...) Thx in advance.
Advertisement Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Hi jochiongv, Take a look here Type240's tripod mount location. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Doc Henry Posted May 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2015 Hi Jochion, it did not matter too much the location (which is usually in the "middle" of the camera) but it is especially a very solid tripod you would have to avoid the wind (not strong) will make the camera dropped and to support big lens such as 135mm. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/244661-dropped-it-after-warranty-expiery-date/ Best Henry I have a Gitzo and a Manfrotto tripod

My concern was not stability when mounted on a tripod, but instead dotting my "i's" and crossing my "t's" when doing single or multi-row panoramic photography. jaapv Posted May 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2015 Yes, it is centered for the lens mount.
algrove Posted May 11, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 11, 2015 Thx Henry... My concern was not stability when mounted on a tripod, but instead dotting my "i's" and crossing my "t's" when doing single or multi-row panoramic photography. And it works just fine with what you want to do.
sdk Posted May 12, 2015 Share #6 Posted May 12, 2015 I finally broke down and bought an M-P. The centering mark on the base of the Really Right Stuff grip/Arca Swiss dovetail base corresponds precisely to the center of the tripod mount (which the RRS base uses to attach to the camera). The grip can be bought with an L for vertical shooting that is also indexed for lens center.
