I really like the play of the subject red and bits of bokeh red against what is essentially a monochrome background. I also like the framing and light. However, I feel it needs sharpening.

Thank you Stuart for comments and advice.

I use LR and unfortunately sharpening is at max.

From time to time I feel a bit short of sharpening with LR

On the preview the image was sharper, but when posted in the Forum something is missing...

Maybe this is the key: In my work flow the last thing I do is sharpening. Just before that I resize the file for the Internet. If you are not doing it in that order, perhaps that would explain why it doesn't look as sharp once posted.

Do not fret; we can get too hung up over sharpness. We all do it, but sometimes a slight softness can help convey the mood you experienced.
