Digital picture fame (DPF) and a 3:2 aspect ratio puzzle

Fancying a DPF as an alternative to the PC monitor to display 3:2 "images" from my D-lux, a problem seems likely to be encountered simply because the DPF specs I've seen so far give their ratio as 4:3 - or less frequently 16:9. (Yes I know the D-lux offers all three, but I prefer 3:2)

What would a DPF do with or to a 3:2 image ? Fill its screen by lopping off the top and bottom, or displaying it unaltered with blank spaces on either side ?

I would like to continue using the 3:2 format... so perhaps a DPF can be kicked off my wish-list !

It depends on the DPF. I think some of them give you a choice, including stretching the image to fit the screen.

For a high quality display, how about using a Microsoft Surface 3 (or Surface Pro 3) tablet? These have 3:2 screens with higher resolution than any DPF I've seen, and because they run full-blown Windows you have an excellent choice of software.
