I was driving by "Our Lady of The Angels" when I notice a commercial jet taking off from John Wayne Airport. I couldn't get out of my mind what took place recently with the loss of 150 people on a commercial airlines.

Hank,

you framed all those thoughts which we all have very well. One can check and analyse once a year or  several times and you can never be sure what's behind up on one's mind. This is the most uneasy feeling cuased by all those reflections. Thanks for posting this.

God is my co-pilot was one of Howling Mad Mardock's favourite phrases, but that was just a nice show from the 80s.

Thanks for the info but I remember a movie made  in the 40's with Dennis Morgan  based on  Col Robert Lee Scott's autobiography about  flying a C47  over the hump and nearly bought the farm  except God was his  co-pilot.

Thanks for your comments  I'm sure the proper authorities are already  making changes and  taking a closer look on how they screen their crews.

Strong and thought provoking image - there are some profound images over on the German Forum taken in the departure lounge at Hamburg the following day

Yes, I'm sure, but flying with its problems is still  the safest and best means of travel.

Sorry Hank, too young to remember that one!
