a problem about Leica T app

Hello,

When I use Leica T app connecting to my camera. If I chose P, A, M or S mode, I can not auto focus by touching my iPad screen. It seems like the camera is in MF mode and if I turn the focusing ring I will get larger screen for helping focusing.

Otherwise, if in Auto or other screen mode , I can have auto focus by touching iPad screen anywhere.

Is it correct for the app?

But I guess it doesn't make sense.

I use app to remote control my camera but I need to have a focus manual?

If it isn't the original setting, how can I chang the focusing setting in Leica T app?

The current firmware of my Leica T is 1.31

I have seen the demonstration from Leica Store Miami about Leica T app in Youtube.

It looks like it can focus by touching in S mode.

So I ask for help here.

Thank you!

Thanks God it isn't my camera's problem.

Yes, I remember it works when I got my Leica T last year.

I have not used app to connect camera for months and have updated the FW to 1.3 already.

Therefore I think maybe there is a setting wrong but can not find out for couple days.

Hopeful Leica issues a new firmware to correct it soon!

My gripe with the T app is that I can't make it work with what I have, and I thought I had it all sorted.

I have an aged iPad, perfect for what I need, but the app requires IOS7, my aged version stopped at IOS5. Part of this is Apple's fault of course, not just the app.

OK, so I have a late model Android phone, but the app is not Android capable. Heck, even my Sony A7 worked with the Android.

I can live without the app, but it formed part of the reasoning for trying the T. Hopefully the lack of Android will soon be addressed.

Of course it is a fault of the app. Developers must comply with improvements to the OS, or anticipate them. Should software development hold back OS development? I think not.

Perhaps a bit tongue in cheek my comments Pico, and I appreciate the aged iPad possibly doesn't have the required power to use the app, but my near new Android phone does, and this I guess is my beef.

Maybe one day.

And while on the T app, a question that I am struggling with.

Do I need a wifi connection present to connect my T to a device with the app?

Can I use the T and app "in the bush", well away from any wifi signal?

The T is Apples bastard love-child ..... of course it will only work with Apple products .....

Here in the UK the hotspot works fine without and doesn't seem to rely on any network connection .... 3g or otherwise.

Range with the iphone is also greater than I expected ...... I can take photos of birds at the other end of the garden ...
