Iduna Posted March 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2015 K.-H. very good results with that combo. MKII is providing apart from improvements in the handling also providing more IQ, I suppose. The Leica lenses can churn out all the potential this MFT sensor offers. nice light and interesting landscape

k-hawinkler Posted March 25, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted March 25, 2015 Thanks Iduna, I would rank the image qualities as follows: E-M5 II > E-M5 > E-M1, not by much, but noticeable. The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II also has a more refined user interface and a second to none IBIS. I think it gets AWB right most of the time and produces nice JPGs if one switches off stuff like noise reduction and sharpening. Agreeing with you, the Nocticron seems to let the OM-D cameras shine, although Olympus has also delivered some excellent Pro lenses. The hi res shot feature of the E-M5 II requires a tripod and no wind at all when shooting outdoors - a pretty unlikely condition where I live. It's probably only really useful for in studio product shots.
k-hawinkler Posted March 25, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted March 25, 2015 Thanks Henry, I agree with you about pictures 2 and 4. The first picture has pretty harsh light. I also happen to like picture 3 with the man-made objects in it. allamande Posted March 25, 2015 Share #7 Posted March 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Beautiful set of a uniquely wondrous place! The third has special appeal to me though they all bring back great memories of hiking this canyon many times over the years. Much enjoyed seeing these.
