Tim B Posted May 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Over the weeks since I finally got my M8 in February the frame selector has become more and more stiff. In fact it now rarely clicks into place when changing lenses without a little nudge from a finger. It is also very difficult (nearly impossible) to use the lever to view different frames whilst a lens is in place. I can sort of live with this, although it is clearly a fault, which I have never had on my M6ttl. Any ideas as to whether this is a case of faulty tolerances in construction, or perhaps a failure of lubrication? In the latter case might it be possible to insert a tiny drop of lubricant in an appropriate place? I don't want to invalidate warranty (although I'm not keen at the moment to send it back to Solms - last resort), but would be keen to sort the problem out. Is it a problem with the lens mount? It ocurrs with all lenses. Any of you engineers, M8 dismantlers got any suggestions? Thanks for any suggestions. Tim

wlaidlaw Posted May 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2007 Suggestion? Seriously mine seems very stiff when mounting my Biogon 21 with a 28mm bayonet and it helps to push the frame lever over when you mount it. I had assumed that was the bayonet rather than the frame but maybe not. Wilson
