tookaphotoof Posted February 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) For the first time since owning my M240 I experienced two lockups in a short period. But as it was with the evf, which I hardly ever use I didn't pay too much attention to it. However, tonight I was looking at some photos and a small hourglass appeared on the lcd. When I enlarged the photo to its maximum size, the brightness went up quite a bit. Going back and forth to the largest size and a bit smaller, the lcd kept on going to bright and dimm again. Pressed the shutter, took a photo, pressed play and the problem was gone. Anyone else experienced this?
Advertisement Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Hi tookaphotoof, Take a look here hourglass and weird behaviour?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2015 It seems the reading off the SD card was slow. Does it do this on all cards?
tookaphotoof Posted February 25, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted February 25, 2015 I guess there is only one way for me to find out then. Seeing if it happens again on this card (Sandisk 64GB Extreme Pro) and if it eventually will happen on another card. I usually format with SDFormatter once a week. The strange thing was, I could keep scrolling through photos and change its size while the hourglass was displayed. Hoping I don't have to send it in as I planned a short stay in Hong Kong and Singapore in about a month.
CheshireCat Posted February 26, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2015 The hourglass issue smells like a firmware bug. The LCD brightness changing may be due to varying amount of LCD light "echoed back" to the brightness sensor, depending on the enlarged part of the image. Where you in a dark environment when reviewing the photos ?
